The City of San Marcos is excited to announce the open recruitment for the Facilities Maintenance Supervisor position to bring knowledge, experience and leadership to the Public Works Facilities division. The full time position presents a great opportunity for an experienced Facilities Maintenance professional to become part of a hard working and community oriented team. Under general direction, oversees, supervises and coordinates programs, operations and activities of the Facilities Maintenance team within the Public Works Department, works closely with team members, other divisions, outside agencies, contractors, tenants and the general public.  Supervises and performs repairs and maintenance related to the City's facilities and real estate assets.

Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade, or equivalent, supplemented by specialized coursework in facilities management, construction technology, building repair and maintenance, trades, business administration or a related field, and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying.  An Associate's and/or Bachelor's Degree is desirable. 
A minimum of four years of responsible maintenance experience related to the maintenance and operations of buildings and facilities, including one year of lead supervisory responsibility supervising a skilled and/or semi-skilled work force. Experience with computer programs used for facilities maintenance management, building automation, construction project management, security access and fire/life safety is required. 

License or Certificate
Possession of certification or license related to facilities maintenance or building construction as issued by the State of California, the I.F.M.A., B.O.M.A. or an association of professional contractors and maintenance managers is desirable.  Possession of an appropriate, valid driver's license with satisfactory driving record.
