Job Details

Title: Electrical Team Leader

Reports to: Maintenance Supervisor


Responsible for accurate electrical connection of all new equipment and fixturing, analysis and correction of electrical problems, and repair and overhaul of electrical equipment and controls. Supervises and/or performs all scheduled maintenance, testing, electrician activities, and electrical maintenance-related tasks for the effective and efficient day-to-day operations of the Electrical Maintenance department. Directly supervises all Electrical Maintenance employees, and coordinates activities with all other departments as necessary.


▪ Comply with all safety and material handling requirements

• Plan and conduct department safety meetings

• Responsible for thorough and timely completion of all PMs

• Responsible for auditing PMs, and keeping accurate records

• Supervise A, B, and C Electricians

• Prioritize and schedule work to be performed

• Receive, schedule, and follow up on Work Orders

• Observe electrical equipment regularly, identify maintenance needed, schedule      work

• Estimate labor type and time needed for task completion

• Schedule labor by type, as necessary for scheduled/anticipated task load

• Check storeroom for parts, supplies needed

• Order parts needed for scheduled maintenance and new projects.

• Operate a forklift

• Check inventory of employees’ tools

• Assist with special department projects

• Assist with special team projects

• Ability to do Electrical drawings using Visio

▪ Perform other related duties as required


▪ Check employee time records for accuracy

▪ Instruct/train employees in job-specific tasks

▪ Plan, assign, and coordinate work of others

▪ Give employees feedback regarding job performance (coaching)

▪ Coordinate work activities (different shifts, inter-departmental, etc.)

▪ Interview prospective employees

▪ Conduct performance reviews

▪ Recommend wage increases

▪ Recommend disciplinary action and terminations

▪ Recommend transfers or promotions
